Reader says Mavericks 10.9.3 still has ACL issues in AD

Nick Kustreba writes that the Mavericks 10.9.3 update did not fix his problems with ACL permissions on an Active Directory network domain. (Although Apple said that the update "Improves reliability of copying, editing and inspecting permissions of files on an SMB file server," other readers have reported permissions problems post-10.9.3.)

Kustreba reports:

We've run into this issue on our environment -- we use Isilon for our storage and use SMB shares with a Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory controller, and SMB permissions get screwed up so bad.

That article makes it seem like the problem is solved with 10.9.3, but we still are experiencing the problem -- however, we installed our Isilon cluster before upgrading *some* of the Macs, and some Macs are still on 10.8, so I'm not sure if that would cause a reoccurrence of the problem.

Has anyone else reported that 10.9.3 actually fixes the ACL issue with Macs bound to AD?

If you've seen 10.9.3 or 10.9.4 clear up permissions problems .
